Mercy Odusote considers herself as part of the Good Samaritan Seniors’ Clinic family. Since seeing Dr. Bing Li as her family doctor for the last five years, she feels she can turn to any member of the clinic team for help.
Mercy was referred to Dr. Li after having her second stroke and was rehabilitating at the Glenrose Hospital at the time. She was still having issues with her hypertension.
“I was careless. I did not take care of myself. When I had the stroke, he was able to control it. I do not have high blood pressure now,” she says.
Her stroke left her paralyzed on the right side and she can’t walk without the help of a cane. In order to arrange public transportation, Mercy, 75, asked the PCN social worker at the clinic to help.
“The social worker said they would fill out the form for me because I didn’t know what to write,” she says.
When she was finding it difficult to fill out her immigration papers, she also went to the Good Samaritan Seniors’ Clinic for support. They assisted her through navigating the system.
“Any problem I take it to them. They are always there to solve it for me. This is my second home. They are so nice to me and treat me like I belong to them,” says Mercy.
