October 20, 2015: For immediate release
Edmonton, AB – Life Fitness has selected an Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network (PCN) exercise specialist from nearly 1,000 nominations and 49 countries as a top 10 elite trainer to watch.
Lisa Workman will be heading to Barcelona, Spain on October 30 to compete for the title of the world’s best Personal Trainer to Watch. Life Fitness will have the finalists compete in one last challenge – a final judging event to evaluate their training skills. They will be evaluated on their ability to motivate, praise and collaborate with a client as well as enhance the workout experience using the Life Fitness SYNRGY BlueSky outdoor training system.
“I’m thrilled for this opportunity to test my knowledge, skills and experience against the top peers in the world. What I learn from Barcelona will greatly benefit our patient population,” said Workman.
Workman has been active in the exercise profession for over 15 years as a certified exercise physiologist, fitness centre manager, fitness writer, presenter and group exercise instructor. She created the Why I Move project, which focuses on sharing personal experiences of being physically active. She has worked at Edmonton Southside PCN for the past two years.
“We’re proud to have Lisa on our staff and wish her all the best in her world competition,” said Doug Craig, PCN general manager.
Finalists were selected based on personal values, innovative training philosophies, education and experience. Judges included experts from Life Fitness and its educational arm, Life Fitness Academy, as well as the International Confederation of Registers for Exercise Professionals, EuropeActive, American Council on Exercise and past competition winners.
